Perk up your post holiday hair

The holidays can be stressful, especially on your hair. With all the blow drying, flat ironing, hot rollers and styling products, your hair can end up dry and lacking shine. Just like your skin, your hair needs to be cleansed, exfoliated and moisturized.

For this hair treatment, I clarify, cleanse then masque. My favorite clarifying shampoo is Unite Weekender Shampoo ($18). Cleanse from roots to ends, this will remove product residue without damaging the hair or compromising your color. Remember, clarifying shampoos do not lather up. If you don't get a lot of bubbles, don't worry, it is working.

Next, I cleanse with Moroccan Oil Shampoo ($21). Since you have just clarified, you will only need about a quarter sized amount of product for shoulder length hair. Shampoo from roots to mid shaft, then rinse.

Last is the masque. Moroccan Oil Intense Hydration Masque ($39) does just that, add intense hydration to the hair, and is perfect for all hair types. Apply from mid shaft to ends and leave on the hair for 10-20 minutes, depending on the condition of your hair. I like to masque in the shower, the steam will open the cuticle and allow better penetration of the product.

An additional step to add even more moisture and shine is the Original Moroccan Oil Treatment ($42). Apply a quarter size amount on wet hair, from roots to ends, and comb through. I let my hair air dry, then apply a little more oil before bed. You will be amazed at how much moisture and shine this treatment will give to your hair.
